  • 1994-1995  Initial Board formed.
  • 1997  A bequest provided for the hiring of the Society's first part  time staff employee.  This person was responsible for fundraising, education and memorials.

  • 2003  The Incorporation statues of the Society changed and this is reflected in the name being changed to "Alzheimer Society of Kenora/Rainy River Districts." The initial boundary alignments, as set in the initial Chapter Development was for the Districts of Kenora and Rainy River. In 2003 the Board of Directors of the Kenora Chapter realized adequate finances and staff. The Corporate name was changed as to the area of responsibility, namely the Districts of Kenora and Rainy River. The community of Atikoken, upon agreement by the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay and the Alzheimer Society of Kenora is serviced by the Thunder Bay Chapter.
